That is a really funny and moralistic story, which is saturated with loads of hilarious quotes (mainly by Higgins) and Shaw's contemplations.
Shaw definitely was a moralist. When he opposed Oscar Wilde's idea of "art for art's sake", he meant it. The story being superficially filled with humor, it is however teeming with social commentary (starting with Miss Dolittle's change and going through all other sorts of things connected with the Victorian morality).
It is hilarious,
