Sophocles is one of three ancient Greek tragedians (also Aeschylus and Euripides) whose plays have survived. His characters spoke in a way that was more natural to them and more expressive of their individual character feelings. The most famous tragedies of Sophocles feature Oedipus and Antigone: they are generally known as the Theban plays. The Translations1. AJAX2. ANTIGONE3. THE WOMEN OF TRACHIS4. OEDIPUS THE KING5.
