It's only spooky because of the possibility of a past, present and a future life. And Roz Morris writes so compellingly that you begin to wonder how many lives were before your current one.

Paftoo is a 'bod'; made to serve. He is a groundsman on the last remaining countryside estate, once known as Harkaway Hall — now a theme park. Paftoo holds scattered memories of the old days, but they are regularly deleted to keep him productive.

But it's all action packed as he is propelled into a nocturnal battle to reclaim his memories, his former companions and his soul. Definitely one for the night.
