Chapter I. In the Middle of the Night
The tiny idyllic pristine island of Mogdoba, situated in cool clear waters far out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, was a heavenly place on which to reside. Its virgin tropical rain forest, two exquisite pure freshwater lakes, the exotic and rare endemic animals and birds and the dazzling skies and sunsets above, gave anyone lucky enough to happen to be there the impression that they had truly entered a place that is usually referred to as paradise. To anyone who may have been a witness to the island’s unreal heavenly beauty it would have been quite obvious that possessing such a gem would have been the aim of many of the richest people on Earth. In the end it was only Earl Rudolf Versben who made a great enough offer to finally manage to persuade the island’s owner, an impoverished American industrialist, to give up and sell the island.
The deal was closed quite quickly after the undisclosed gargantuan sum was announced, causing the American to simply say: “It is yours,” when he heard it. He then added, “You’ve offered me a fitting sum for this heavenly diamond.”
The earl simply smiled, being extremely pleased with himself for making such an arrangement and getting what it was he had wanted.
“By the way,” continued the soon-to-be-wealthy industrialist. “I have very friendly staff working for me on the island, including excellent cooks and very top-level maintenance personnel. I am sure that they will not mind staying and working for you.”
“That won’t be necessary,” answered the nobleman. “I have more than enough of my own people and I am sure that they are no worse than yours.” And with that the deal was closed.
A month later the aging European aristocrat arrived on the Island of Mogdoba on his own ship and by no stretch of the imagination could it have been said that he arrived alone. There were in fact two hundred men who also left the ship and followed their leader onto his newly acquired island paradise. The deep-green circles emblazoned on their white shirts, made it clear to any observers that the shirts’ owners all belonged to one and the same organization.
When the group finally reached the palace that had long ago been built on the island, Earl Versben directed everyone to stop and then he addressed his people: “My faithful Knights, recently we have seen a sign: the joining of a large island with a small one. In this case Australia and Cuba physically unified and are one land now.”
After these words, each knight kneeled on their right knee and leaned on the ground with their right fist bowing their heads in honor. The Earl then moved his hands as if he was tracing the outline of an invisible globe and said: “As you know, more than three hundred long years ago, the Supreme Master John, the founder of our order, mentioned this exact event and stated that when such an event occurred it would mark the moment when his last will had to be opened and read to all! And now, I ask the Master of Chains to bring me the hallowed box in which the sacred will has been sealed for all of these years!”
A young well-built man approached the Earl and as he held out an ancient looking wooden box, the Earl painstakingly opened it. Then, in his role as the Supreme Master he took out the scroll, unsheathed his dagger and proceeded to use it to break the holy seal and then carefully opened the scroll.
“Faithful Knights of the Order,” the Earl started readingthe Last Will and Testament of the Founder and First Supreme Master of the Order. “During the course of many, many years you have been the guardians of the secrets of ancient knowledge. Some of you may have pondered the real purpose of this and asked yourselves: ‘What are we doing this for?’ We, as the guardians of the secrets, when the time comes, are required to fulfill our holy duty which is to launch a holy crusade against the greatest of evils of all time. The arrival of the time for action will be heralded in by the junction of two great islands. At that time the shining hen will capture and seize the world, spreading its influence and force from every heart to every other heart and from every country to every other country. Your mortal enemy is the sum total of all of the harmful ideas that will be spread and because of which all of humankind will fall into decay and perish forever. Righteous Warriors, you mustn’t allow this heresy quarter! You must destroy it at its center, located on the border of the two unified islands and you must drive out the Hen’s ideas!”
When the Earl finished reading, all of the Knights quickly stood up as if ready for battle. The tension in the air was thick and it was clear that they were ready to begin their great fight right at that moment.
“Be patient,” the Supreme Master said, calming his warriors. “Now things have become clear and we know who our foe is. Our great duty is now to carry out the will of our wise founder. We need to get ready and should start preparations as soon as possible. On this night our Order will begin preparing for its greatest campaign!”
Two hundred brave knights (including the Master of Chains and the Master of Spears) had no idea whatsoever that the true will of their founder had been maliciously substituted with an evil falsehood. If for anything else Earl Versben was remarkable for his extremely heightened love of power which thus led him into attempting to achieve his cherished goal and his true target, namely unlimited power. To attain his objective the Supreme Master had bequeathed upon himself the right to carry out what was a heretofore unprecedented deed, and decided to replace the real will with one of his own making. In reality the founder of the Order had bequeathed upon his followers to welcome and support the Henofization of the world: We possess the true secrets of how to make people work more effectively,” wrote Supreme Master John at the beginning of the real will, and thus according to the real final wishes of the founder, the knowledge they had which would allow for the building of an ideal and productive society on the entire planet, must be made available for everyone and all of humankind.
