Instruction Manuel «Language cards by Margarita»
The philosophy of preparing these cards is based on an experiment I did and was very much liked by children who have learning and spelling difficulties. My idea was not to correct them orally because oral correction is often expressed in a non-encouraging style, which eventually offends the children.
i.e. to correct the child, I just show him/her the instruction word or sentence with the corresponding correction (without talking at all!).
This book includes 51 cards:
1) 7 cards- instructions for reading
i.e. if the child while reading does not stop at the full stop, to correct, we just show him/her the corresponding card
2) 8 spelling cards, by the same procedure
3) 19 activity images, for image learning of similar sound vowels, compound vowels, compound consonants and vowel combinations.
i.e. to learn the «ei» in the word «eissodos» (= entrance), we focus on «ei», which the child can color as well.
4) 13 images for practice
5) 2 great words to encourage the child in learning, «Yes!» and «I can!».
These cards are part of my Smart and Fun Learning book group.
The child can play with the cards and learn on his own, without stress and without the help of an adult, since the image is the word itself!
On the other hand, some cases of children with special learning disabilities may need special help.
The cards can be cut from the pages of the book and placed in a folder either on the wall, at school or at home.
Finally, for the practice cards, the child can color them and find similar words, orally or in writing.
