Предисловие

Изучение английского языка — это увлекательное и полезное занятие, открывающее новые возможности для общения, работы, путешествий и личного развития. Эта книга создана для взрослых изучающих английский на начальном уровне (A1), кто стремится не только выучить базовую лексику и грамматику, но и развить навыки повседневного общения.

Структура книги построена таким образом, чтобы учащийся постепенно и системно осваивал материал: каждая глава содержит объяснение грамматических конструкций на русском языке, иллюстративные примеры, текст на английском с повторением изученных структур, список полезной лексики и выражений, а также упражнения для закрепления знаний. Особое внимание уделено практическому использованию языка: здесь нет сложных теоретических рассуждений, все примеры и задания соответствуют реальной повседневной ситуации.

В конце книги собраны отдельные справочные разделы: полезные выражения с модальными глаголами can, should, have / have to, коллокации и фразы для рассказа о себе. Chapter 1: Hello! Nice to Meet You

Grammar Focus: Verb to be (am / is / are)

Глагол to be — базовый глагол в английском языке.

Он используется, чтобы:

представиться

сказать, откуда вы

рассказать о работе

описать состояние

В английском предложении глагол всегда обязателен.

Формы глагола to be в настоящем времени:

I am (I’m) — я

You are (You’re) — ты / вы

He is (He’s) — он

She is (She’s) — она

It is (It’s) — это

Примеры:

I am Anna. — Я Анна.

Важно помнить:

Нельзя сказать I Anna или She manager.

В реальной речи чаще используются сокращения: I’m, you’re, he’s.
