The English Sentence: Word Order

Grammar Focus

В английском языке порядок слов в предложении очень важен. В отличие от русского, слова в английском почти всегда стоят в фиксированном порядке. Именно порядок слов показывает, кто выполняет действие и что происходит.

Основной порядок слов в утвердительном предложении:

Subject + Verb + Object

Subject — кто? что?

Verb — что делает?

Object — кого? что?

Примеры:

I read books. — Я читаю книги.

She likes coffee. — Она любит кофе.

They live in London. — Они живут в Лондоне.

Если в предложении есть обстоятельства времени или места, они обычно стоят в конце предложения.

I work in an office. — Я работаю в офисе.

He studies in the evening. — Он учится вечером.

Отрицательные предложения:

Для отрицания используется do not (don’t) или does not (doesn’t).

Структура:

Subject + do / does + not + verb

I do not like tea. — Я не люблю чай.

She does not work on Sunday. — Она не работает в воскресенье.

Вопросительные предложения:

В вопросах вспомогательный глагол do / does стоит перед подлежащим.

Структура:

Do / Does + subject + verb?

Do you live here? — Ты живёшь здесь?

Does he play football? — Он играет в футбол?

Важно:

После do / does глагол всегда используется в начальной форме (без -s).

Subject Pronouns: I, You, He, She, It, We, They

Grammar Focus

Subject pronouns — это личные местоимения, которые используются в роли подлежащего и показывают, кто выполняет действие в предложении. В английском языке подлежащее всегда должно быть выражено, поэтому такие местоимения используются постоянно.

Основные местоимения-подлежащие:

I — я

You — ты / вы

He — он (о человеке мужского пола)

She — она (о человеке женского пола)

It — он / она / оно (о предметах, животных, явлениях)

We — мы

They — они

Эти местоимения стоят в начале предложения, перед глаголом.

Примеры:

Использование it

Местоимение it используется в нескольких случаях.

Для предметов:

The phone is new. It is very expensive.

Для животных, если пол не важен:

I see a cat. It is very small.

Для погоды, времени и температуры:

It is cold today. — Сегодня холодно.

It is five o’clock. — Сейчас пять часов.

В таких предложениях it не переводится дословно, но обязательно используется в английском.

Замена существительных местоимениями

Чтобы не повторять одно и то же слово, существительное часто заменяется местоимением.

The Verb «To Be» — Present Simple

Grammar Focus

Глагол to be означает «быть, находиться, являться».

В настоящем времени (Present Simple) он имеет три формы: am, is, are.

Форма глагола зависит от подлежащего.

I используется с формой am.

I am a student. — Я студент.

I am at home. — Я дома.

He, She, It используются с формой is.

He is a teacher. — Он учитель.

She is tired. — Она устала.

It is cold today. — Сегодня холодно.

You, We, They используются с формой are.

Grammar Focus

Grammar Focus
